Group First Aid Courses for School Staff and Pupils

Specialist First Aid Courses:

All our specialist first aid courses for schools are fully assessed and give a certificate of competence which is valid for 3 years.  The ratio of teaching for these qualifications is 1 instructor :12 learners.

  • 2 day Paediatric First Aid (RQF Level 3) EYFS, OFSTED
  • 1 day Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF Level 3)
  • 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF Level 3)
  • 1/2 day Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis (Epipen) Training (RQF Level 2)
  • 1/2 day Basic Life Support and AED Training (RQF Level 2)

General First Aid Courses:

These courses cover emergency situations common in the school environment relating to both children and adults. we can train both staff and students. We fit the course to your school day timings with a minimum of 4 hours up to 6 contact training hours, depending on the time you have available. 

These course give a certifiate of attendance to all participants which is valid for 3 years. We can train 20 attendees with one trainer and will work with group of up to 80 with more trainers. 

  • First Aid for Schools - INSET 4-6hrs
  • First Aid for Children & Students (Yr4 - Yr13) - 4-6hrs

We understand that often schools have specific first aid requirements which may not be met by our standard range of courses. Please contact us with your requirements if this is the case and we will be happy to work with you to provide the course that you need.

Public First Aid Courses for School Staff

You may not have large numbers of staff to train on each different type of first aid course or you may find it difficult to arrange for large numbers of staff to receive training on the same day. React First runs an open programme of piblic first aid courses for individuals to attend in Central London.

Additional Emergency First Aid at Work Certificates: Anyone attending the 2 day Outdoor First Aid or the 2 day Pitch-side Sports First Aid courses can also order an additional Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. It is useful for schools who need to have a number of staff trained in Emergency First Aid at Work for their Health and Safety obligtions as an employer to be able to receive two different certificates from just one course.

Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis (Epipen) Training - half day

/media/coursedescriptions/library/epipen.jpgThis 4 hour course is designed for teachers, group leaders, carers, workplace first aiders or anyone else who needs training in how to recognise anaphylaxis and how and when to use an adrenalin auto-injector.

This course will look at the different types of adrenalin auto-injector available in the UK: Epi-pen, Jext and Emerade. You will refresh you CPR skills and learn how to manage an incident where a casualty known to have anaphylaxis is suffering from a severe allergic reaction.

First Aid for Schools - Staff - half day or full day

/media/coursedescriptions/library/first-aid-for-schools-1.jpgRunning a whole school inset day first aid training course is a great team building day.  Your staff learn or refresh their first aid skills which is always a great confidence boost.  

This course covers essential life saving first aid techniques for both children and adults in a school environment.

Ideally the course will run from 0900 - 1530 to give us 5.5 contact hours.  Shorter courses, with less content can also be run.

If you would like the course to fit around your existing school day structure or run a shorter course just get in touch with your requirements and we will be able to adapt the course and the content to fit your day.

First Aid for Children and Students (Yrs 4 -13) - half day or full day

/media/coursedescriptions/library/els-for-students.jpgChildren of all ages should learn first aid.  It is such an important life skill to have and the practical nature of first aid training means that the course is always a bit hit with the children and a really fun day.

Whether it's for your D of E students or part of all the students' curriculum we can tailor the course to cover what you need.

Our trainers are used to co-training courses with each other can we are happy to train any number of students.

Ideally the course takes a full school day and will fit around your standard break and lunchtimes.

Paediatric First Aid (L3 RQF) 2 days

/media/coursedescriptions/library/paediatric-first-aid-600-x-520.jpgThis course is for those who might have to identify and manage emergency situations or manage minor everyday occurrences when looking after young children. This qualification meets Ofsted requirements for those working in early years settings and uses the criteria for effective paediatric first aid training found in Appendix 1 of The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Practice Guidance document.


The current EYFS statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or outings at all times when children are present.
