Forest School Outdoor First Aid with Paediatric Training

/live/courses/Forest School Tree.jpg

This is enjoyable and highly practical two day first aid course is a must for all Level 3 Practitioners and those supporting Level 3 Practitioners.

The course is 16 contact hours, with an outdoor element and a paediatric element which meets the FSA first aid benchmark for Forest School practitioners and IOL band 3 guidelines for Outdoor First Aid.

No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course.

As a Forest School practitioner, as well as the children you would also have a number of adult helpers and staff that you are responsible for, as such the course is about treating both adults and children.  As many practitioners also work in an Early Years school setting we also award a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) certificate which is a requirement by OFSTED for EYFS, in addition to the 16hr ITC Forest School First Aid certificate.

Our online article: "What first aid training is needed by a Forest School Practioner?" contains full details of the accreditation of this course to meet the Forest School assocaition benchmark for first aid training.

Open Course Programme

We have a programme of public Forest School First Aid courses in London for individuals to attend. Attending this course will give you the outdoor and paediatric first aid training that you need as a Forest School practitioner.

Dates, locations and cost of these courses are on our course calendar.  View public first aid course dates >> /live/courses/Calendar - small.jpg

In-house Training

We can run in-house forest school first aid training at your venue for groups of up to 12 learners per instructor.  You need a room large enough to not only seat everyone but also to allow them to lie on the floor and be rolled around without bumping into furniture or each other and access to outdoor space.

The 16hr ITC Forest School First Aid course has both and outdoor element and a paediatric element as standard. The certificate meets the FSE first aid benchmark. The Forest School First Aid course is also aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning, IOL, statement of good practice for outdoor first aid at band 3. All ITC outdoor first aid training delivered by React First is accredited by the IOL.

Additonal certificate option

If your group works in an Early Years setting in schools there is an option to award an additional Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid certificate to meet OFSTED requirements for Paediatric First Aid in EYFS settings. The course content doesn't change, it is simply an administrative process to complete the paperwork for, and award and additional certificate. There is a charge for this additional certificate - see our first aid courses pricing page.

Whilst this additional certificate is standard on our open courses, your staff may already hold this certifiate hence it is an optional, paid for, extra on private courses.

If you have just 2 or 3 staff members to train in Forest School and Paediatric first aid then why not contact us about hosting an open course? If we can find suitable dates and you are happy to have external attendees at your venue we can often join forces to host a course that is convenient for your staff. We need a lead time of 2-3 months to advertise the remaining places and appreciate any help in advertising the course to other local schools and Forest School groups.
