Basic Life Support Course with AED Training
The 4hr Adult Basic Life Support course with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is ideal for you if you need to:
- Attend an annual Adult CPR refresher course
- Learn to use a defibrillator (AED)
- Update or learn Basic Life Support BLS skills
Course Content
This is a very enjoyable and highly practical first aid course course which uses universal defibrillator training devices.
- Introduction to the purpose of AEDs
- Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents and assessing casualties
- Safe Airway Position
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - Adult
- Chain of Survival
- Safe use of AED
- Heart Rhythms
- AED Scenarios and troubleshooting
- Dealing with Aftermath
- Evaluation
Course Timings
A half day course with a minimum of 4 hours of contact time in the classroom.
Qualification Details
RQF Level 2 Qualification
- Qualification title: Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF)
- Unit 1 title: Basic Life Support and using and Automated External Defibrillator
- Credit: 1
Certificates are valid for 3 year following successful completion of the course.
Booking a Course
We can run in-house training at your venue for groups of up to 12 per instructor. You simply need a room large enough to not only seat everyone but also to allow them to lie on the floor and be rolled around without bumping into furniture or each other. We will also ask for the details of the AED equipment that you have on-site to make sure that the course is tailored exactly to your requirements. First Aid Tips
The Scouting Association has extra first aid requirements for leaders. While our Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid covers core skills, including child CPR, scout leaders also need awareness of meningitis, sepsis, and dental emergencies. We provide factsheets, an online test, and a supplementary certificate to meet these requirements.
