Jo VellinoJo Vellino first became involved in First Aid when she qualified as the 'Appointed Person' for First Aid in Schools. She went on to deliver the St Johns Ambulance 'Young First Aider' course to 13-16 year olds in school, as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. Over the years Jo has continued to improve her own first aid skills, through a number of expedition first aid courses, for both her own personal expeditions and as part of her Mountain Leader qualification. Jo qualified from the University of Bath with a BSc in Psychology, and then went on to complete her teaching qualification at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is presently teaching Psychology & Geography in an inner city London school and continues to run Leadership Skills workshops in schools across the UK. Over the past years, Jo has pursued many of her own adventures. In 2006, she was part of the Arctic Foxes team with Jennifer, becoming the First British Female Team to cross the Greenland icecap. Following this achievement, Jo then worked as an Adventure Tour Leader for EXPLORE, leading groups on a number of exciting tours, including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, climbing Mount Meru (Tanzania), as well as wild camping safaris across the Serengeti, Camel safaris in the Sahara, and overland tours across Northern Africa from Tunisia to Egypt. Jo combines her years of outdoor, adventure tour leader and teaching experience in delivering Travel Safety courses to Independent and Gap Year travellers.04/01/2007
