New HSE Guidelines on Suspension Trauma

Following an evidence based review recently completed by the HSE the guidelines are now that standard first aid procedures should be given for suspension trauma. The recent practice of placing casualties in a semi-recumbent or sitting position is now considered to be without any sound evidence base and may prove dangerous through prolonging the lack of blood return to the brain.For more information read our Suspension Trauma: Fact or Urban Myth article.
