/live/courses/ITC First website header.gif

CPD training delivered by the awarding organisation ITC First.

The purpose of this CPD is to provide Centres running first aid qualifications with information to continue to deliver, assess and quality assure regulated first aid qualifications.

Skills for Health Assessment Principles have stated that by October 2015

  • All Assessors of regulated first aid qualifications must attend this day of they do not hold a formal teaching assessing qualification
  • All Internal Quality Assurers must attend this day of they do not hold a Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification

All previous first aid trainer certificates from unregulated sources [e.g. ITC Provider Certificate before October 2013 or any ‘lay instructor award’] will no longer be recognised as being suitable for individuals wishing to deliver regulated first aid qualifications.

FAQ

I passed my PTLLS qualification in 2008 do I need to attend this event?
The short answer is probably YES.
The 6 credit PTLLS qualification [2007 version] is specifically listed as not being suitable for the assessment element for teaching and assessing first aid qualifications, it is still suitable for teaching regulated first aid. The 2011 version of PTLLS is suitable for training and assessing first aid if the appropriate assessment unit was included in the qualification.

I have up to date teaching and assessing qualifications do I still need to attend this event?
The short answer is probably YES.
Unless you hold a level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification someone from your Centre is required to attend this event.

Where & when are these events to be held?
As well as the dates and venues listed above CPD days are also planned for the following areas:

Thur, 20 Nov 2014, Stamford
Sat, 09 May 2015, Exeter
Mon, 11 May 2015, Durham
