Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are no longer just for use by Ambulance technicians but also trained members of the public as part of a strategy to reduce the number of deaths from heart disease.

These simple to use machines are well established as the effective therapy for cardiac arrest and the most important determinant of survival for a heart attack casulaty is the time from collapse to delivery of the first shock. 

 

Course - Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Training - 1 day

This course follows the current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines, delivering a training programme for all organisations who wish to provide AED cover in their establishments.

The course is delivered using up to date equipment and certificates are valid for 6 months.

No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course.

  • Basic Life Support Scenarios
  • Chain of Survival for Heart Attack
  • Shockable Heart Rhythms
  • AED Scenarios
  • Assessment of competance
  • Dealing with the aftermath  

Revalidation
6 monthly revalidation is required as per the Resuscitaion Council (UK) guidelines.
