Course - First Aid for Schools (including Anaphylaxis (EpipenŽ) Training) for Inset Days
Running a whole school inset day first aid training course is a great team building day. Your staff learn or refresh their first aid skills which is always a great confidence boost. With allergies on the increase and as many children have now been prescribed adrenalin auto-injectors this course also covers the required content for staff to be trained to deliver these injections when necessary. Everyone will receive an attendance certificate in First Aid for Schools (inc. Anaphylaxis Training) which is valid for 3 years. Course TimingsIdeally the course runs from 0930 - 1530 to give us 6 hours. However if you would like the course to fit around your existing school day structure just send us the timings that you require and we will be able to adapt the course to fit your day. Course Content- Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents and assessing casualties
- Safe Airway Position
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - Adult & Child
- Choking - Adult & Child
- Bleeding
- Asthma and Epliepsy
- Anaphylaxis awareness and use of adrenalin auto-injectors
If there is additional content that you would like to cover please give the office a call to discuss. There is a limit to what can be taught in a day when our focus is practical training to ensure that everyone leaves with new skills. For example you may have an AED (defibrillator) on the premises and would like certain staff to receive additional training. Booking a CourseWe run in-house training at your venue for groups of up to 20 per instructor. We can teach larger courses with multiple instructors. You simply need a room large enough to not only seat everyone but also to allow them to lie on the floor and be rolled around without bumping into furniture or each other. Ask about organising a course for your group >> Happy Customers"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the excellent First Aid training you gave us last week on our Inset day. I have had so many comments from the staff about the day; how enjoyable it was, how much they learnt and how useful it was. The repetitive element, building up of the skills gradually, has really stuck in people''s minds, particularly the ''STOP. ASSESS'' (combined with the hands out!)It was also lovely to be spoken to as intelligent adults; so many trainers pitch this wrongly. Thanks again for an enjoyable and informative day." Course - Emergency Life Support for Children & Students (Yr 4 - Yr 13)When someone is having a heart attack, has serious bleeding, choking, is unconscious or in cardiac arrest, knowing what to do to help keep them alive until professional help arrives can give their chances of survival a significant boost. The skills you need for this are called Emergency Life Support skills, or ELS. Children of all ages should learn first aid. It is such an important life skill to have and the practical nature of first aid training means that the course is always a bit hit with the children and a really fun day.
According to the British Heart Foundation: "CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), taught in schools as part of ELS, might double a casualty’s chances of survival from a cardiac arrest." Ref: http://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/campaigning/emergency-life-support-skills.aspx Course Timings

Happy Customers"For the last five years React First has provided full day training courses for our girls in the IIs and IIIs (Year 8 & 9) as part of our outdoor education programme. We feel very strongly at Tudor Hall that the girls need a good understanding of First Aid in case of an emergency, preparing them for further training in D of E. The two-year progressive course from React First is pitched just right for our girls, so that our girls learn the theory in a fun and interactive way and have lots of practical hands-on training. Charlie and his team liaise closely with the staff, with whom he has built a sound relationship over the last few years. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you this coming year."
