Become a First Aid Trainer
Join the Team First aid training can provide you with additional freelance work or you might want to run your own courses for your own clients, either way we'll be there to help you every step of the way.All of our trainers are passionate and motivated people both in work and outside of work. We nurture an ethos of professionalism and fun to ensure that all our trainers deliver the best first aid training possible. Most of our trainers are already professionals in their chosen field who are looking to enlarge their work portfolio. Whether your interest lies in delivering one of our specialist Sport, Outdoor or Motorcycle courses or simply First Aid at Work we provide all the necessary training and support to get you started.You would be delivering first aid courses certificated through ITC which is both a QCA Awarding Body and also and HSE approved provider. This means that the courses you deliver will be some of the very few to provide qualifications recognised by both the HSE and the QCA. All our courses provide certification which lasts for 3 years. In addition to this you will benefit from the security, back up and credibility that comes from belonging to an established organisation. How do i become an ITC trainer? You must attend one of our two day courses as a potential trainer during which the instructor will spend time at the end of each day to discuss our ethos, training methods and quality assurance that we expect all our trainers to have. Once we are all happy that becoming a React First Trainer is right for you then you will attend a four day trainers course.The path to becoming a trainer is open to all, whatever your experience. Individuals with prior training and or medical experience may find that they move much faster through the process.View ITC Provider Induction course dates here.What happens on the provider induction course? The awarding body ITC First Aid has over 10 years of experience in supporting and helping trainers develop. They provide an innovative First Aid Trainers course to develop your training skills and provide you with a variety of training methods, a set of resources including shemes of work and powerpoint presentations as well as access to the latest guidelines. You receive your own comprehensive Trainers Pack and Logbook containing a CD of course images, teaching notes etc.What happens after that? After successful completion of this course all other training, support, advice, is FREE to the Trainer. You will join our join a coaching programme and be fully mentored on your way to becoming a trainer. As part of this programme you will shadow and work along side an experienced trainer within React First, until every aspect of the course you wish to deliver has been taught under supervision and all new trainers are fully supported throughout until they can deliver a course confidently.You will receive regular newsletters throughout the year and regular standardisation event s are hosted to keep all Trainers up to date with any changes and help you to extend the range of courses that they you can deliver.Experienced trainers delivering ITC courses for React First can earn up to £150 per day.Do i need a 3 day First Aid at Work certificate to attend the trainers course? You will need to have a valid First Aid at Work certificate before you can be signed off as a fully qualified trainer. You do not need to have this qualification prior to starting the program.The exception to this are Paramedics registered with the Health Professions Council who are exempt from the requirement to hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate.Do i need to be a member of the Institute for Learning? Soon everyone delivering adult learning courses through a QCA awarding body will need to be members for the Institute for Learning. If you are not already then you would need to attend a PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) course. This is an Adult Learning qualification which may be valuable to you in other areas of your career.
